Four players thrived in goal. On Saturday, Lukas Hradecky grabbed a penalty and made five more saves to help the team to an unexpected 1-0 win.
The day after that Heorhiy Bushchan shone against the Netherlands, on Monday afternoon Tomáš Vaclík in the match against Scotland and in the evening Robin Olsen, who saved the Spaniards.
Among the outside backs, the Austrians David Alaba (assist) and Stefan Lainer (goal) did well, while left back Leandro Spinazzola and right backs Nelson Semedo and Denzel Dumfries also performed well.
As far as the stoppers are concerned, the clear winner is Milan Škriniar, who did not lose perhaps a single duel and scored the decisive goal. Victor Lindelöf and Leonardo Bonucci also did well.
Several players stood out in the centre of midfield. N’golo Kanté and Paul Pogba shone against Germany, while Georginio Wijnaldum (goal), Kalvin Phillips, Marcel Sabitzer (assist) and Pedri also played well.
Some of the wingers also gave a solid performance. Rafa Silva managed to win a penalty in the second half and assisted twice.
Xherdan Shaqiri was on a rampage against Wales (assist), Germany’s defence was torn apart by Kylian Mbappé and both wingers shone against Turkey (Llorenzo Insigne scored, Domenico Berardi was excellent and had an assist on his own goal).
Romelu Lukaku, Patrik Schick and Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals, while Ciro Immobile and Roman Yaremchuk scored a goal and an assist. Alexander Isak, Breel Embolo and Kieffer Moore also played well.
