Transfermarkt has come up with a list of the players in the top 5 leagues who have racked up the most goal assists in the 2021 calendar year. Perhaps a little surprisingly for some, both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are missing from the list.
1. Thomas Müller – 46 games, 27 assists
Bayern Munich, Germany
This name, on the other hand, doesn’t surprise many people. Müller has been a very underrated player for a long time, but his contribution to both Bayern and the German national team is huge. For goal scorer Lewandowski, he is his crowning assistant, and thanks to that, he has already racked up 27 assists in the current year and is the king in this attribute.
