Transfermarkt has come up with a list of the players in the top 5 leagues who have racked up the most goal assists in the 2021 calendar year. Perhaps a little surprisingly for some, both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are missing from the list.

1. Thomas Müller – 46 games, 27 assists
Bayern Munich, Germany

This name, on the other hand, doesn’t surprise many people. Müller has been a very underrated player for a long time, but his contribution to both Bayern and the German national team is huge.
