Wednesday’s Champions League brings another batch of matches, this time the last of the groups for the 2021/22 season.
Group H
Juventus – Malmö 18:45
Zenit – Chelsea 18::45
The advancers in this group are already a tax. Chelsea will only go the distance with Juventus for the top spot in the group. The Blues travel to St Petersburg, Juventus welcome Malmö at home. If both teams get equal points, Chelsea will be first thanks to a better matchup.
Group E
Benfica – Dynamo Kiev 21:00
Bayern – Barcelona 21::00
The group that attracts the most attention. A big sensation is about to happen, the famous Barcelona is on the verge of elimination. To avoid this, they must beat Bayern Munich on their soil, an extremely difficult task. Or they must hope that Benfica don’t beat Dynamo at home. If Benfica wins and Barcelona draws, the Portuguese side will be promoted thanks to better matchups.
Group F
Atalanta – Villarreal 21::00
Manchester United – Young Boys Bern 21::00
The first advancer is clear, Cristiano Ronaldo practically single-handedly dragged Manchester United to the already certain top of the table thanks to better mutual matches with Villarreal. Villarreal and Atalanta will square off for promotion, Young Boys Bern can still finish third and qualify for the Europa League if they beat Manchester United and Villarreal beat Atalanta. A draw moves Villarreal on.
Group G
Salzburg – Sevilla 21::00
Wolfsburg – Lille 21::00
The most confusing group of all. Everybody can still advance. What does anyone need to advance?
Lille will advance if they don’t lose. They will finish first in the table if they win or if they draw and Salzburg don’t win.
Salzburg will be promoted if they don’t lose. Finish first if they win and Lille don’t.
Sevilla will be promoted if they win. Finish first if they win and Lille lose.
Wolfsburg will advance if they win. Finish first if they win and the second game ends in a draw.
