Where’s the King headed? There is interest from Leverkusen, Leipzig and Hertha
Twenty-four-year-old Alex King has had an unsuccessful season, initially playing for Russian side Spartak but then heading on loan to West Ham, where he got a taste of the Premier League for just a minute. Where is he headed now?
Twenty-four-year-old Alex King has had an unsuccessful season, initially playing for Russian side Spartak but then heading on loan to West Ham, where he got a taste of the Premier League for just a minute. Where is he headed now?
Alex King didn’t play much at West Ham, but he was still nominated for the national team, which was widely criticised. In the end, he played in the last two games and didn’t disappoint.
He’ll be returning to Spartak Moscow in the summer, but it’s almost certain he’ll be looking to move elsewhere. Where could that be? All roads seem to lead to Germany.
According to Sky Sports, three teams want him, namely Bayer Leverkusen, Leipzig and Hertha Berlin. He may well be reunited with a fellow countryman, as he was in England.
Hertha, where Vladimir Darida plays, should have already sent an official offer. A move to Leipzig is in the cards thanks to coach Domenico Tedesco.
He coached him at Spartak and has good memories of him. Leverkusen brought in Adam Hložek and Patrik Schick is also playing there, but it is questionable what kind of workload King could have.
Either way, the addresses are tempting. Who would have expected a player who plays just one minute a season in the Premier League to have so many takers?
