Although the England national team failed to medal at the last World Cup in Qatar, nineteen-year-old Jude Bellingham will be a hot commodity this summer. Among the main suitors are Real Madrid and Liverpool. But he’s got to come up with a lot of money. Thetransfer fee could be as high as €150 million.

A month after his 16th birthday, when he joined the English second division, it was clear that a new star was being born. Birmingham-born Jude Bellingham has thrilled the football world over the last three years.

Right after his first season in professional football, he headed to Borussia Dortmund, currently the second most successful team in the Bundesliga after Bayern Munich . After dominating performances, he is now set to leave in the summer for a breathtaking sum.

At the age of nineteen, Jude Bellingham has become the pivotal face of Borussia Dortmund. This team lost a goal scoring machine named Erling Haaland before the start of the season and all indications are that another mainstay will leave the club this season. Apparently, three clubs, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Liverpool, are currently interested in the services of the young English midfielder.

According to the available information, the latter should be the closest to acquiring the Englishman. However, Dortmund themselves are doing everything they can to keep their captain. Borussia’s management has even offered Bellingham the highest salary offer ever, reportedly around fifteen million euros a year.

To give you an idea, the current highest paid player in the A-team, Marco Reus, earns three million less. A more accurate picture of the situation will be available around March, when Bellingham is expected to meet with his manager and the management of his current employer.

However, Borussia don’t have much chance of keeping the 19-year-old super talent. In the event of a transfer, the Stourbridge native’s price tag could climb to €15 million, making him the third most expensive player in football history, after Neymar and Mbappé.

“Liverpool are the current favourites, with Jurgen Klopp pushing the club to acquire him. Bellingham is his number one transfer target,” commented German Sky journalist Florian Plettenberg on the situation.

The team from Anfield Road is not having an ideal season, under the current set-up they would not even be looking at the European Cups next year. Despite this, the public opinion is that Bellingham would prefer to move to the Reds.

Real Madrid are not out of the picture either. In fact, long-serving central midfielder Toni Kroos has announced that he will hang up his cleats at the end of this season and president Florentino Pérez will no doubt be keen to find an adequate replacement.

Whatever the outcome of the situation, the club whose jersey Bellingham will wear for next season are unlikely to regret their decision.
