Where is the financial fair play? Valencia coach criticises Barcelona’s expensive purchases despite debts
A rather interesting situation occurred in Barcelona. In the summer, the club could not afford to buy anyone, there were rumours of big debts, because of which even Lionel Messi had to leave, but now the Catalans report that they are back. The proof is supposed to be the expensive arrival of Ferran Torres. The Valencia coach has thus launched himself into criticism.

Everyone remembers that moment. Lionel Messi had to leave Barcelona as the club could not afford to sign him. The question was what to do next, as the Catalans were in huge debt, they couldn’t even register Sergio Agüero.
Everything looked really bad. However, the turn of the year looks like someone waved a magic wand.
Barcelona announced the arrival of Ferran Torres from Manchester City before the winter transfer window even started. The Spanish player arrived in Catalonia for 55 million euros.
The president of the Catalan club, Joan Laporta, then said earlier this week that everyone should get ready because Barcelona are supposedly back.
“Everything is possible. We’re on the market. Barcelona continues to be the benchmark, everything is working well. It is necessary to do a few things so that we can win the maximum number of trophies,” Laporta expressed.
The Barcelona boss also revealed that the club is planning other winter signings. In addition to that, he is already working on summer transfers.
This is not to the Valencia coach’s liking. “Barcelona have a debt of 300 million euros, yet they bought Ferran Torres dearly and will probably acquire Álvaro Morata soon. Moreover, Laporta says they will buy more players, even Erling Haaland. Where is the financial fair play?” josé Bordalás is angry.
So it almost seems that the rules don’t apply to everyone. However, this does not only apply to the top Spanish competition.
