Jude Bellingham wows the football world at just 20 years old
Still a boy in the face, but with the ball at his feet he is becoming an incredibly mature man. At just 20 years old, he has won over some of the world’s most demanding fans and is considered a god even in his home country.
Where are his limits? Jude Bellingham entered the new season in style and needed virtually no time to adapt to his new surroundings. After incredible performances in a Real Madrid jersey from the start of the season, he has followed it up with the England national team.
He was rested in Friday’s friendly against Australia, only to unleash his demon in the biggest showpiece of the 8th round of qualifying matches for EURO 2024. In that one, England faced a selection of Italians and more than 83,000 spectators at Wembley watched another one of his great performances.
More than two years ago, the two rivals clashed at the same venue in the final of EURO 2020. Back then, the Italians won the gold medals for the winners of the European Championship after a dramatic match and Wembley mourned. But now the fans have made it all up in the fight to be part of the final tournament in Germany.
But victory was not easy for the English. Italy took the lead after just a quarter of an hour. A lone Gianluca Scamacca appeared in the box and had no trouble sending the ball into the home goal.
In the match against Italy, among other things, he performed an amazing action and became the ninth man of the match
But the hero of the previous moment fouled Jude Bellingham after half an hour and French referee Clément Turpin ordered a penalty kick. Albion captain Harry Kane stepped up to the plate to level the match.
Then, after the change of sides, came the star moment for Real Madrid’s 20-year-old megastar. On the edge of his own penalty area, he took the ball away with a clean slide, unleashed an incredible curve in midfield and sent Rahsford on the run. He kept his cool and sent England into the lead.
The desperate Italians desperately needed to score, and the door was opening for quick English counter-attacks. Harry Kane converted one of them again with 13 minutes left in regulation time to seal the match at 3-1.
England only needed a draw to qualify for the final tournament in Germany, but the win over the Italians certainly had a sweet taste. The man of the match was Jude Bellingham, who won the award for the ninth time in thirteen games for Real Madrid and the England national team.
