Jiří Procházka was seriously injured at the end of November last year and lost his belt defence with Glover Teixeira. Almost four months have passed since that event and fans are wondering how Jiri is currently doing. Now his coach Martin Karaivanov tried to describe it.
Jiri Prochazka’s fight with Glover Teixeira in December did not take place, the Czech samurai seriously injured his shoulder and it was certain that he will have a long recovery.
Almost four months have passed since this event and the situation in the semi-heavy division has changed. After two title fights, Jamahal Hill is the champion and Teixeira has retired.
Walk, meanwhile, is recovering from injury and trying to make more public appearances again. His trainer and manager Martin Karaivanov tried to describe what his current status is.
“There is no news. The only one is that the rehabilitation is going well. It’s going well beyond expectations. Jiri is coming back to the Czech Republic, so we will examine the condition and decide what the next step in training will be and when we will start full training and so on,” Karaivanov said in an interview with Mixx Sports Media.
Still, fans are wondering when we can expect his return. After all, Hill isn’t going to wait long, however, and Prochazka has been promised to go for the belt immediately upon his return.
“Depending on how Jiri is, we will choose a date for preparation. Then the date of the fight will depend on that. The first information is something like July, August. September at the latest,” he added.
Even considering the fact that Procházka definitely won’t want to rush anything, we can count more on the second date, which could be optimal for both fighters.
