What was that?! The Brazilian tennis player made probably the best shot of the decade and thrilled the fans! Watch her sensational ending to the exchange
Brazil is especially famous for its technically gifted footballers, but now Brazilian tennis player Ingrid Gamarra Martins has also shown her technique with probably the best shot of the decade.
The WTA 250 tournament is currently underway in Bad Homburg, Germany, and is one of the preparatory tournaments for the legendary Wimbledon. It features, for example, the dominant world number one Iga Šwiatek, Linda Nosková and Katerina Siniakova.
However, during Monday’s playing day, a much lesser-known Brazilian tennis player Ingrid Gamarra Martins claimed the spotlight during a doubles match.
She and her partner, Belarusian Lidziya Marozava, defeated the Norwegian-Russian duo of Ulrikke Eikeri and Alexandra Panova.
Martins in particular really shone in this duel. She showed incredible technique. Or was it luck? Not even the official WTA channel is clear on that.
What prevailed at this point is up to each of you. However, the Brazilian definitely delivered a fantastic stroke that can definitely be one of the best of this decade at least.
We would be looking for Martins in the WTA singles rankings for a very long time. She’s as high as 806th. But in doubles she is doing much better, we would only find 72 better doubles players in the world now.
The 26-year-old tennis player from Brazil has made herself very visible with a sensational stroke. It’s not just the tennis world that has been taken by storm by her parade. The official Wimbledon channel shared the video.
