What the Czechs showed against the Spaniards: New formation works, Kuchta plays for a contract

The new formation is working
When Jaroslav Šilhavy took on the Swedes in April with a three-defender system, few probably expected him to stick with the unconventional formation. However, the players followed up their good performance against Switzerland and Wales and it seems that the 3-5-2 tactic will not be abandoned.
In the absence of the mainstays, the team is working well, Tomáš Souček and Michal Sadílek are getting on well in midfield, Jan Kuchta is unstoppable, the whole line-up is working. The only question is, where will Antonín Barák fit in this system after his recovery?
The centre of defence suits Brabec
Jakub Brabec has been criticized a lot in recent years, but since the beginning of the calendar year he has been doing well at least at the national level. He is building on his solid performance against the Swedes in the Nations League matches in June.
He performs well in the centre of the three-man defence, is strong in the air, makes decent crosses and, most importantly, his confidence is evident in his play. With Tomas Holeš available, Šilhavý can look forward to an interesting trio of David Zima, Brabec, Holeš.
Russian league? Kuchta can do better
It hasn’t even been six months since Kuchta’s transfer from Slavia to Lokomotiv Moscow, yet another and even more significant career move could come in the summer transfer window. He has the quality for the elite league, the performances of the last week are a clear proof of that.
But it’s not about two goals and one assist, Kuchta will be of interest to big clubs mainly for his work without the ball. He puts the opposition goalkeeper under pressure with his constant pressing, he is not lazy on the step. The Premier League could suit him!
