Hectic days for the football world! The crazy, but sensational, transfer window has offered some incredible transfers and on the last transfer day (for the English Premier League), the Hammers got one! The enclave of Czech players will grow by another member! Alex Kral arrives from Spartak Moscow, how do his new teammates and the public react?
Alex Král has been linked with a transfer to West Ham especially in the spring months and the Kladivar fans were literally crying out for his transfer. But then came the Euros and the midfielder from Russian Spartak didn’t fare too well there.
There were even reports in the media that the Hammers had lost interest in the King. A long lull followed in the transfer period. West Ham were very inactive and their fans blamed everything on unpopular owners.
But West Ham completed the transfer of Kurt Zouma (from Chelsea) during the last transfer week and finally completed the transfers of two players from the Russian league! The first one is promising Croatian Nikola Vlasic (from CSKA Moscow) and Alex Kral (from Spartak Moscow) got a dream transfer at the last minute.
Reactions from the public and teammates
Libor Sečka, former Czech ambassador to Great Britain (a big WHU fan), also commented on the situation. He explained the translation of the word king to English fans and then wrote. Good luck Alex.”
One of the most popular reactions on Twitter is that of Tomáš Souček! “Sports agent Tomas Soucek continues. Welcome to our club Alex.” The Czech national team captain was joking, but he certainly has a big part in the transfer.
Vladimír Coufal also tweeted the same thing. “Only you…really?” He probably lobbied for the transfer of the curly-haired midfielder as well.
However, the 29-year-old central defender avoided the jokes on his Twitter profile and welcomed Alex Kral with a photo together.
Hammers fan favourite Declan Rice also took notice of the transfer, writing
Former employer Spartak Moscow also commented on the West Ham welcome video, writing to London. “Take good care of him, please.”
