The UEFA Nations League is over and the qualification for the European Championship is upon us again. The Czech team, due to dropping out of Division A, will be in the second basket in the draw, where we will also find France. What is the composition of the baskets?
Despite a promising start, this edition of the Nations League has not been successful for the Czech team. Moreover, the elimination meant that we will be in the second basket in the draw for the European Championship qualification.
There are six baskets in total, the first five are ten countries each. Who’s in the first? Among the elite we can see the Netherlands, Croatia, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Portugal, Belgium, Hungary, Switzerland and Poland.
As we can see, Germany, who will host the tournament, is gathering in it. In the second we can already see our team, together with Austria, Wales, Israel, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Scotland, Finland and even France and England.
In the third basket, Ukraine, Iceland or Sweden are among the strongest teams, and you definitely don’t want to get Greece or Turkey in the fourth basket. Slovakia is only in the fifth.
Russia will not be part of the draw, which will take place on 9 October at 12 noon, and thus logically will not be able to take part in the final tournament.
The top two teams will advance from the groups, while the remaining three places will be contested by the top 12 countries according to the Nations League that did not qualify for the tournament.
