What did the Czechs show against Moldova? Lousy midfield, Spartan attack didn’t work either
Another national break is over. Finally, you could say, it is not one of the favourite parts of the football season in our country. This time we have two completely different performances of our team, and the one against Moldova was not optimal.

The Czechs got 4 points at the beginning of the qualification. If this information had come before the actual matches, most fans would not have been unhappy. However, in the current situation there is dissatisfaction.
The Czechs beat Poland with a quality performance and three days later drew unnecessarily in Moldova. They are leading their group, but it simply has a bad aftertaste.
There are several reasons for the loss, ranging from underestimating the opponent to poor team performance and ending with incomprehensible decisions by coach Jaroslav Šilhavy.
What did the Czech team show against Moldova? First let’s focus on the negatives, then we’ll look for the positives, which were not too many in the last match.
The pair of central midfielders Tomáš Souček and Antonín Barák had a bad game. Especially the former was not valid in the midfield, combination is not his strong point. Moreover, he could have made the difference, but in a hopeful situation he hit the crossbar.
We can’t leave out the outside backs, who didn’t work as expected this time. Vladimir Coufal was rather hampered by the ball, David Jurásek often lost them.
The offensive duo of Jan Kuchta and Tomáš Čvančara were not happy either. Kuchta was almost invisible, Čvančara had several opportunities, but he didn’t threaten the goalkeeper too much.
But the coach deserves the biggest criticism. Šilhavý didn’t react to the performance and the result by changing tactics or formation, and the loss of points is behind him.
So who should be praised? The stopper trio together with the goalkeeper acted confidently, they did not let the opponent into any chances.
Of the more offensive players in the base, Adam Hložek passed the benchmark, and Petr Ševčík, a substitute, didn’t disappoint either.
