What did Slavia show against Panathinaikos? Usor a diamond in the rough, Douděra still has gaps in his defending
Slavia has an important win in its pocket. They beat Panathinaikos 2:0 at home and could have added more goals. They have created a promising position for the rematch in Athens, but what did the match in Eden show?
Slavia has an important win in its pocket. They beat Panathinaikos 2:0 at home and could have added more goals. They have created a promising position for the rematch in Athens, but what did the match in Eden show?
The diamond in the rough Usor
This kid has a lot of potential. Speed, explosiveness, excellent shot, one-on-one, he has it all perfect. He needs to work on tackling and decision making in the attacking third, but that’s part of polishing a diamond.
But the potential lies huge in the 20-year-old Nigerian and if he works hard, one day Slavia can sell him for big money.
Non-defender Doudere
With his attacking forays, he brings to mind the likes of Baha or Coufal who cut the right flank in Eden before him. He supports the offense excellently, exactly according to Trpišovský’s taste, he is almost always on the run, which is helped by his unique speed.
What he needs to work on, however, is defensively. In the first half he had three tackles that ended in fouls, the last one resulted in a yellow card and Trpišovský preferred to substitute him at half-time. But the important thing is that he wants to learn, he wants to work on himself and defending is not something that can’t be drilled into your blood. Watch his progress and believe that by the end of the season he will be in a completely different place with his defending.
Leader Ousou
Aihama Ousou is gradually becoming the leader of Slavia. Sure, if you wanted to, you’d only notice his two mistakes in the midfield, but that’s the toll of being constructive. However, the Swedish stopper reigns supreme in duels, helps the Sešiovans to set up offensive actions and at 22 years old he still has a lot of room for improvement.
The outstanding Oscar
Probably the least appreciated player of Slavia. For a long time Oscar acted as a patch, playing where someone dropped out. Left back, central midfielder, left winger, holding midfielder. But now he’s settled on the left edge of the defence and he’s going up tremendously.
Against Panathinaikos he defended brilliantly and supported the attack excellently, his fake passes behind the defence were exhibition. And again, Oscar just turned 24 a few days ago. There is still a lot of potential for the future.
