Slavia won their home match of the European Conference League Eight Finals and after a 4:1 victory are close to advancing to the next stage. What did the performances of the individuals in the home camp show heading into the next matches?
The tenacious Plavsic
A much glued together defensive unit put in a solid performance. Both midfielders played well, Alexander Bah graced his performance with an assist for the opening goal, and Srdjan Plavsic came close to scoring, after whose pass Yira Sor missed punishingly in a great chance.
In any case, Plavsic confirmed that he is playing very well this spring. He was one of the best on the field in terms of running, he was not afraid to work the ball on the edge of the risk and he was extremely dangerous for the opponent’s defence. It is slowly starting to pay off for Slavia.
Trpišovský was not disappointed by Souček
Maksym Talovjerov got his first chance in the starting lineup. The winter signing from České Budějovice has so far only started from the bench, but with numerous absences, the coaching staff relied on him from the first minute.
Jindřich Trpišovský sees Talovjerov as the new Tomáš Souček and the Ukrainian stopper certainly has some of his traits. Above all, long legs and strength in personal duels, but the Ukrainian all-rounder didn’t disappoint against Linz in terms of running.
Ousou’s equaliser
After the first two spring games of the Slavia season, Aihama Ousou was a blanket. Especially the cup derby with Sparta didn’t work out at all for the Swedish stopper, but just like in the autumn, Ousou managed to wake up.
He didn’t let Adam Hložek or Tomáš Čvančara do anything at the weekend, before that he contributed to the progress over Fenerbahce Istanbul with very solid performances. On Thursday it was Ouso’s peak, excellent work defensively and above all, building up forward. Simply a performance worthy of a modern stopper.
