Slavia Prague’s quarter-final rematch with Feyenoord is over and after a 1:3 result they are out of the European Cup. The Slavs gave a good team performance, but some players did not play as expected.
It should have been one of the biggest successes for Slavia in recent years, but the home rematch did not go well and the fans left Eden disappointed.
Slavia fell mainly because of individual mistakes, especially in the first half, they were pressing their opponents and deserved to advance to the dream semi-finals.
What kind of performance did the Slavia players put on? Aleš Mandous was the sad hero of the match, although he made two excellent saves, the second goal was his fault, and the third was also not very clear because of his position.
It was Alexander Bah, especially in the first half, who was outstanding and was one of the best players on the pitch. However, his colleagues in the midfield do not deserve praise.
Aiham Ousou was at fault for the first goal, his crossing was not good. Taras Kacharaba also doesn’t have a clear conscience on the opening goal, but also on the third one where he took a pointless risk and failed, after that Feyenoord were already rushing the goal.
Moreover, Kacharaba nonsensically tripped a fleeing opponent in a no-goal situation at the end, for which he received a red card. Left-back Oscar played a good game and is a clear mainstay of his team.
The defensive midfield pairing of Ibrahim Traoré – Maksym Talovjerov was used. The first one did not play badly, moreover, he perfectly picked out a bad pass from the guests and scored Slavia’s only goal. Talovjerov was able to pick up a lot of balls, but especially in the end he messed up and spoiled
The offensive team of Schranz, Lingr, Olayinka and Sor didn’t get many chances, and after the second goal they looked completely resigned and it certainly didn’t look like a turnaround.
