What about Coutinho? AC Milan is interested, high salary is an obstacle
Barcelona want to get rid of Philippe Coutinho, whose arrival at Camp Nou can probably already be rated as one of the worst transfers in the club’s history. AC Milan are interested in the Brazilian, but there is a catch.
Barcelona want to get rid of Philippe Coutinho, whose arrival at Camp Nou can probably already be rated as one of the worst transfers in the club’s history. AC Milan are interested in the Brazilian, but there is a catch.
Coutinho’s situation is not at all simple. Barcelona don’t want him, however, selling him is almost impossible.
Currently, AC Milan are interested in the Brazilian ball wizard’s services, as they are looking for a replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu, whose contract has expired, after which he signed for rival Inter.
However, apart from Coutinho, the Rossoneri also have James Rodriguez from Everton in their sights. For the time being, monitoring of possible reinforcements and finding out information regarding their availability is ongoing.
However, Coutinho and Rodriguez are players who would certainly take the club to the next level. But neither player will be free.
And finances are a big issue with Coutinho in particular. AC Milan are thought to be considering taking him on loan, however, the player is on a salary of €12 million a year and Barcelona are demanding that the Italian outfit pay for him entirely themselves during his loan spell.
It must be mentioned then that Coutinho is under contract at Barcelona until 2023. It is not very likely that AC Milan will be able to snap him up. After that, the question is whether any club that might have the finances to sign him will be interested.
The future of the technically gifted Brazilian does not look rosy at all. At 29 years old, he is about to experience the best years of his career. But things are very different.
