The Czech national team will face West Ham in the opening semi-final of the Europa League on Thursday. Frankfurt, the beaten Barcelona, will come to the Islands. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?
West Ham are not in ideal form, having won only one of their last five games and lost their hopes of finishing in the Top 4 in the league.
Frankfurt also knocked out a big name on their way to the top four teams of the tournament, after Betis Sevilla knocked Barcelona out of the competition. However, Frankfurt are only finishing in the Bundesliga, they have no chance of winning any trophies from ninth place.
Jarrod Bowen is the home side’s biggest star, the English winger has scored fourteen goals and assisted eleven times. In the midfield, one of the world’s best duos, Declan Rice – Tomas Soucek, excels.
Daichi Kamada is again leading the way for the visitors, with the Japanese international scoring eight times and assisting on three goals. Colombian forward Rafael Borré has netted nine times and assisted six times.
The Hammers have struggled especially in attack, scoring more than one goal in only one of their last five games, twice coming up empty.
On the other hand, Frankfurt’s defense is on fire, scoring nine times in the last four games.
Given the poor performance of Frankfurt’s defence, a West Ham win is very likely.
