West Ham and Bournemouth will play the 12th round of the Premier League on Monday. The visitors are surprisingly better off in the standings, with the home side obviously the favourite. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?
West Ham are on a roll after a poor start to the season, losing only one of their last six games, but picking up points in the cups rather than the league. They are only 17th in the Premier League, with only a two-point cushion in the relegation zone.
Bournemouth, on the other hand, are most pleased with their start to the season. With thirteen points, it disproves the role of the biggest outsider in the competition, under the new coach it is thriving. From 13th place, they have a four-point lead on the relegation zone.
On the home side, summer signing Gianluca Scamacca is worth mentioning, the burly Italian striker has already made six appearances. Jarrod Bowen is getting back to his form of last year, the England international managed to net five goals.
Dominic Solanke has also remembered his form from last year, the English striker has scored five goals (2+3) so far. Denmark’s Philip Billing has also been unexpectedly productive, the national midfielder has found the net three times and assisted once.
West Ham can at least boast of an improved defensive performance, scoring only five times in the last seven games.
Bournemouth are scoring mainly at home. They have won only once in the last five rounds, at the ground of penultimate Nottingham.
Considering West Ham’s improving form and Bournemouth’s poor away results, I think West Ham will win.
