A very bad game for West Ham players. They lost to Brentford 0:2 in an important match and the dream fourth place is inexorably slipping away. Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal started the match from the beginning.

For West Ham, it was quite an important game. At the end of the season they were still hoping for fourth place in the Premier League, three points behind them. So, to stay in touch, they had to make this game a three-pointer.
It should be noted that Brentford is a team that should be beaten by clubs thinking of participating in European competitions. However, the latter surprised and won against West Ham after a great performance.
Despite West Ham being more on the ball in the first half, Brentford on the other hand had more scoring opportunities. However, the fans didn’t see any clear-cut chances in the first half, and so it went into the dressing rooms goalless.
Shortly after coming out of the booths, however, Brentford managed to open the scoring when Mbeumo found the ball in the 48th minute and placed it along the ground right to the post.
West Ham failed to react to this warning and Brentford went up 2-0 in the 64th minute. Toney’s precise header was the difference. West Ham couldn’t create any more pressure that would have resulted in more chances until the end of the match and so they lost to Brentford by two goals.
What does this mean in the Premier League table? West Ham are slipping away from fourth position. They are already six points behind with one game to spare. So it is very likely that West Ham will be more likely to struggle to stay in the Conference League. Brentford, on the other hand, have moved up to 13th.
