Daniel Křetínský is the owner of Sparta Prague and recently acquired a minority stake in the English team West Ham United. According to the latest information, he could now also acquire a stake in one of the French teams.

Daniel Křetínský has been the owner of Sparta Prague since 2004. Since then, the historically most successful team in the Czech Republic has won four championship titles, the last of which was in the 2013/14 season.

The long wait could come to an end this season, as the selection of Danish coach Brian Priske is currently at the top of the Fortuna Liga table. They currently have a two-point lead over Slavia.

In the autumn of 2021, the successful 47-year-old businessman bought a minority stake in England’s West Ham United. It should account for 27%, but there is speculation that Křetínský could buy a majority stake in the future.

West Ham are struggling in the current season. It can be found in fifteenth place in the Premier League table, with only four points separating it from the relegation places. The Hammers could at least improve their mood in the Conference Europa League.

According to the latest information from the Enterprendre website, Křetínský is interested in buying a stake in French team AS Saint-Étienne. This is a very traditional club, which already has ten league titles to its credit.

However, since the 2022/23 season, it has been playing in the second French league and is currently far from promotion. If we look at the table, we see that Saint-Étienne is only twelfth with 39 points.

It will be very interesting to see if Křetínský gets a stake in another club. It is certainly not an impossible thing, as the current owners are considering a sale as early as 2018.
