Coming back from the national team reunion in style. This weekend’s 13th round of the English Premier League will offer some big games, which ones should you not miss? It certainly won’t just be a case of one against the other.
Coming back from the national team reunion in style. The weekend’s 13th round of the English Premier League will offer some big games, which ones should you not miss? It certainly won’t just be a case of one against the other.
Manchester City vs. Liverpool
We have already reported about the showpiece of the round in many articles, but the duel between the first and the second cannot be omitted from the overall list. Liverpool can take on Manchester, but especially at Anfield. This time they will play away, but on the other side there is one big unknown – the health of Erling Haaland.
Newcastle vs. Chelsea
A big test for both teams. Newcastle have a whopping 14 injured players, which was evident in the last round at Bournemouth (0: 2). Despite the break, some of them may have healed their wounds, it will be an even match at home against Chelsea.
The Blues were picking themselves up before the repre break, moreover, paradoxically, they are better against the favourites. Cole Palmer or Mykhaylo Mudryk look promising, but the Magpies are precise defensively. Chelsea, on the other hand, have scored eight goals in the past two games.
Brentford vs. Arsenal
The London derby and perhaps the most underrated game of the weekend. Brentford have scored against Arsenal in both of their first league seasons, and the Gunners have not looked 100% in October and November. Thomas Frank can take on Mikel Arteta.
Tottenham vs. Aston Villa
Another great battle of two paradoxes. Tottenham have started the season brilliantly but are without injured mainstays Micky van der Ven and James Maddison. In the absence of these players, they haven’t won a point in two games so far.
Aston Villa are only three points behind first-placed Manchester City, but that’s mainly due to a 100% home record. Unai Emery beat Spurs twice last season and with the absence of Tottenham stars, we can trust him this time too.
Everton vs. Manchester United
Everton need to work hard after the points deduction to return to a quiet mid-table position. The primary expectation from Manchester is to improve their performance. However, it will not be easy on Everton’s turf, the playing display of the Liverpool team looked solid in the past matches.
