Today, 9th December, Slavia will face a very difficult match against Union Berlin. Although the match will be played in a foreign stadium, the team has not been doing well in Germany for a long time. However, Union’s plan is clear, they want to beat Sešiovans! How does Urs Fischer see the upcoming match?

Winner takes all. Yes, this is also how we can interpret the upcoming match between Slavia Prague and Union Berlin.

“We have worked hard to make the best of the match. I expect it to be a really tough match, it’s a challenge for us,” Fischer said in an interview for the club’s website.

“Slavia is doing well in the domestic competition. They have scored 18 goals in their last five league games and are very strong defensively. It has quality and forwards up front who can decide games. But we have to concentrate on us and use our strengths to win the game,” he concluded.

Max Kruse, the striker of the German team, also spoke at the press conference. He clearly stated that Slavia must be defeated. However, if they fail to do so, it will not be a disaster.

Two years ago, based on his words, no one would have expected Union not only to reach the cups, but also to play for the knockout stage.

“I am excited before the last game, but it is not important for me whether it is the final game or not. I try to win every game,” Kruse said at a press conference.

“Yes, we feel some pressure. It’s not exactly a comfortable situation. To advance, we just have to win. If we lose, it’s over. But that’s ultimately what makes football football. That’s what makes it exciting,” he added.

Union must take all three points from the upcoming match to enjoy promotion to the next stage, whereas Slavia only need a draw.

Feyenoord lead Group E with 11 points ahead of the last Conference Europa League matches, with Slavia in second place on seven points and Union third on one point less. Maccabi Haifa round out the group. The Israeli team has four points and a score of 1::5.

The match starts at 21:00 and it will certainly be an exciting and combative duel, so don’t miss it!
