Lukáš Haraslín feels very disappointed about the loss and the end in the European Conference League. His teammates feel the same disappointment. However, the Slovak midfielder is aware that Sparta pulled the short end of the rope during both games.
“It’s hard for me to make any assessment right after the game, but we actually scored three own goals. We allowed Partizan to do what we knew we couldn’t allow them to do. We allowed them to break, they scored goals after our mistakes and unfortunately we dropped out of the cups because of that. If we want to play in Europe, the performances have to be better,” Haraslín told the club’s website.
The Slovakian midfielder, on loan at Sparta, is rightly aware that Partizan’s goals came after Spartan’s mistakes. According to Haraslin, Partizan could not create anything without Sparta’s mistakes. They were always unnecessary losses.
Haraslin says that for Sparta to succeed in Europe next time, they must avoid such mistakes and losses. He also knows that in attack, Letna were not very dangerous. He needs to work on that too.
“We are missing the final phase. We know how to get there, we cross the opponents in the middle, but the finishing is missing. Maybe we don’t push it enough, we don’t take it on enough. We need to be more predatory in the hexagon, try shots from every position. If you don’t shoot, you don’t score.”
“We knew we could beat Partizan. Wefailed at home, so we believed we could be successful here,” Haraslín says.
But Partizan Belgrade completely disrupted Spartan’s plans when they managed to score two goals. “We finally scored, but it was too late.”
