Red Bull Racing celebrated winning the Constructors’ Cup championship at Suzuka thanks to Max Verstappen’s victory and a low-placed Mercedes driver. The Austrian stable thus managed to defend the championship from last year, a great success commented team boss Christian Horner.

It was only a matter of time. Red Bull has been an absolutely dominant team this season and has won every grand prix so far, apart from one DNF in Singapore.

Two wins were scored by Sergio Pérez, who dominated the events in Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan. However, Max Verstappen has won 12 times in 2023 and is also on his way to a third consecutive championship title.

Red Bull has already collected 623 points in the current season, 318 points ahead of second-placed Mercedes. And that means, based on the number of races remaining, that the German team no longer has even a mathematical chance of overtaking Red Bull.

An interesting fact is that even if Verstappen had raced for Red Bull alone, i.e. without Chec Pérez, the Austrian team would still be leading the Constructors’ Cup.

The reigning champion has already scored 400 points in the current season alone. Mercedes, with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, has collected 305 points. And this is a testament to what an exceptional season Red Bull is having this year.

An incredible year!

“This is the year we never dreamed of. It’s unbelievable. Last year was a very strong year for us. I think it’s a testament to all the men and women in the team who have worked tirelessly to make the car as competitive as we’ve had that we’ve been able to maintain this pace, ” said Christian Horner, quoted by RaceFans.

“Formula 1 is one of the greatest team sports in the world. I think it’s the result of all the 22 different departments, all the staff behind the scenes, working crazy hours to produce these cars and this result,” the Red Bull boss continued.

In conclusion, Horner reiterated that he sees this year’s dominant season as an incredible feat. A number of things had to come together in just the right order for Red Bull to produce a near-perfect monocoque.
