Already last week, Chelsea and Benfica reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The London club turned around their defeat to Dortmund from the first leg and went on to win 2-0 at home.
Benfica, after winning the first leg (2: 0), destroyed Bruges 5: 1 and became one of the dark horses of the competition.
AC Milan then secured promotion after a 1-0 home win and a 0-0 draw at Totteham. Bayern confirmed their first win in Paris with a 2-0 home win over PSG.
In Tuesday’s programme, we watched Leipzig demolish Manchester City (7: 0), Inter were very lucky to survive the three poles after an opening 1: 0 win over Porto and advance to the quarter-finals thanks to a 0: 0 draw.
In the last two matches, the favourites to qualify were clear. Real Madrid defeated Liverpool 5: 2 in the first match on its field, while Napoli brought home a 2: 0 win from Frankfurt.
And both favourites confirmed their role at home. Real Madrid won 1: 0, Naples beat Frankfurt 3: 0.
