Fans of national football can rejoice, because the European Championship knockout fights are finally coming. At least in the first round, the Czech Republic will also be represented.
However, the team led by Jaroslav Šilhavý will face the strong Netherlands, which has several excellent players in its squad.
And what if the Dutch are going to underestimate something? It certainly doesn’t seem so from the pre-match statements. On the contrary.
“We will have to give the best possible performance to get a good result. The Czech Republic showed in the group what they can do. We will have to work hard,” Frank De Boer, the coach of the Dutch team, is clear.
The Netherlands could have faced Portugal, France or Germany. The Oranjes are certainly not complaining about the draw, but they are not taking it lightly either.
“We could have got a really top opponent, but the Czech Republic also has a very good team. We will approach them with maximum concentration and maximum commitment,” said Georginio Wijnaldum.
