This is the fourth time that Viktoria Plzen will play in the Champions League group stage. This time it will face a really tough group consisting of Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Inter.
It could be said that qualification is a real utopia. However, most people didn’t trust Victoria to advance in the group either, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The favourites won’t be the Victorians though.
“We have nothing to lose, but I would really like the players to give a great performance and believe that we can do something here,” said coach Bílek at the press conference.
Just think of Slavia, who won a point in a 0:0 draw at Barcelona in November 2019. Given Viktoria’s defence, a draw is definitely realistic, but the fight for a point will be tough.
“We all know about Barcelona’s qualities. They are an extraordinary team that has strengthened incredibly recently. Whoever plays up front, they have tremendous quality. We know about the way they present themselves and they will want to play. We will see what our qualities will be up to,” he added.
“Someone can only experience a match like this once in a lifetime. Everyone is ready and looking forward to it,” the Viktoria coach concluded. The match between Barcelona and Viktoria Plzen is played today at 9pm. You will be able to watch it on Nova Sport 3.
