Everton face a crucial game in their fight for relegation on Wednesday, travelling to relegated Watford. Frank Lampard’s men are just a point behind eighteenth-placed Leeds, so they will be looking to win.
Watford are relegated back to the Championship after this weekend’s game against Crystal Palace, although they still have three games to play. Moreover, they have lost their last six league games, scoring only three goals.
Everton also beat Leicester after Chelsea and got out of the relegation zone. Currently, they have a one-point lead from the sixteenth place to the eighteenth place Leeds United, so they must beat Watford unconditionally.
Emmanuel Dennis is the biggest support of the home team, the Nigerian international boasts a record of 10+6, but has been struggling since February. Senegalese winger Ismaila Sarr has scored five times and assisted twice.
On the away side, Brazilian forward Richarlison, author of nine goals and four assists, was in fine form. The talented English winger Anthony Gordon scored four times and added two goal assists.
The home side are troubled by the health of several players, missing Tom Cleverley, Juraj Kucka, Joao Pedro and Samir, as well as the sidelined Hassane Kamara. Everton will be without Andros Townsend and Nathan Patterson.
Watford are not doing well at home at all, even breaking their league record by losing their last eleven home games.
Everton, on the other hand, are finally getting their defensive game going. Jordan Pickford is catching in great form, conceding only four goals in the last five rounds.
Considering Pickford’s form and the mental state of the home players, I think Everton will win.
