Watford vs. Burnley: Preview and betting tips
Saturday’s Premier League schedule will offer a classic rescue battle between Watford and Burnley. The favourite is obvious, the visitors have won three of the last five rounds, while the home side have lost four in a row. What to expect from the game?
Watford, after a decent start to the season, have been struggling since November and will most likely be relegated. From nineteenth place, they are nine points behind seventeenth-placed Burnley and have lost in the last four rounds.
Burnley, on the other hand, have confirmed that they are serious about salvation, gaining ten points from the last five rounds to get ahead of Everton. Currently, they are two points ahead of the eighteenth place, with the Toffees having a game in hand.
The home side’s offensive mainstay is Emmanuel Dennis, the Nigerian international boasts a record of 10+6, although he has gone down a lot in performance since February. Also worth mentioning is left back Hassane Kamara, who has been performing very well since arriving from Nice.
Wout Weghorst is in decent form, the winter signing from Wolfsburg has scored twice and assisted three times. Otherwise, the Clarets stand on a solid defense led by stoppers Ben Mee and James Tarkowski and goalkeeper Nick Pope.
The visitors’ well-functioning defense is beautifully portrayed by the fact that the Clarets have only scored once in the last three rounds.
It is Watford who have struggled in defence in particular, getting more than one goal in six of their last seven games.
Considering the mood of the Burnley team and Watford’s tragic defence, I expect the visitors to win.
