Prochazka and Pereira in the same event? UFC 300 may offer unexpected title fight, Brazilian wants to make history
It’s already official that Jiri Prochazka will appear at the UFC 300 anniversary gala, as well as his opponent. But the rest of the program is still shaping up and now one very attractive fight has emerged that could grace the event. Will BJP’s conqueror Alex Pereira make an appearance in Miami in an attempt to make history?
It’s already official that Jiri Prochazka will appear at the UFC 300 anniversary gala, as well as his opponent. But the rest of the program is still shaping up and now one very attractive fight has emerged that could grace the event. Will BJP’s conqueror Alex Pereira make an appearance in Miami in an attempt to make history?
Coming up on April 14, we’ll see the UFC 300 anniversary gala at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. So far, three fights have been announced that we will see at the event. It is a great honor that Jiri Prochazka will appear in one of them.
BJP’s opponent will be Aleksandar Rakic, a top five welterweight returning after a long layoff. Nothing easy, but it’s a battle that could send the Moravian Samurai into another title fight.
Walk will go into action for the first time since being stopped by Alex Pereira in November. The Brazilian has even managed to turn down a request for a rematch, but it seems he’s not too keen on waiting for the injured Jamahal Hill, so he could go early.
It’s not out of the question that he could appear just like the Moravian Samurai at the UFC 300 gala. In fact, he posted a mathematical puzzle on social media that gives it away. “30+300=3,” Pereira posted to Stories on Instagram a few days ago.
The number 30 could mean the jump up to heavyweight in pounds, 300 the number of the tournament, 3 for a change the number of titles he would win if victorious. Will that be the case? It’s offered. And the man to whom the challenge was addressed doesn’t seem to be resisting.
Will UFC 300 offer an unexpected but all the more anticipated battle?
Alex Pereira’s move to heavyweight has already been talked about by his partner Glover Teixeira. After all, even for a welterweight, the Brazilian is quite big. However, Teixeira hinted that it could happen one day. Could it be that fast? Not many people would have expected that.
However, the fact is that Pereira is also now 36 years old and if he wants to break records and rewrite history, there’s not much to wait for. Although he may still have a few more years at the top ahead of him.
To win the belt in two weight classes? Exceptional, but not unique. But a belt in three divisions? That would be absolutely phenomenal. But the heavyweight situation is messed up. The UFC still wants Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic to fight each other.
Interim champion Tom Aspinall is in the running, but he’s out of luck. And that he’d like to stand for a year? Absolutely not. Naturally, he couldn’t ignore the speculation about a duel with Pereira and decided to respond to it.
When a fan offered to fight the Brazilian, he made his feelings clear on Twitter: “Great idea!” Besides, he posted a photo on Instagram that once again invites speculation. So will we see a phenomenal fight?
