Matěj Vydra has been out since the summer, but he is recovering from another injury. In winter he should have already chosen his new employer and it was expected to be in domestic waters. Sparta were the favourites, but according to the Swedish newspaper, their former overlord is also interested in him.

Thirty-year-old striker Matej Vydra has been without a contract at Burnley since the end of his contract. The right-footed footballer, who has played in England for Watford, Derby, Reading and West Brom among others, is now looking for a new employer.

He is gradually getting his health in order, and Sparta were the favourites to get him, and he even visited them during a league match in the autumn. It is, however, a question how this possible arrival develops.

There is also interest from abroad, specifically from Sweden. According to the Sportbladet newspaper, Sparta’s former conqueror in the European Cups, BK Häcken, is interested in the former Czech international.

Last year’s Swedish league winner Alexander Jeremejeff, who at the age of twenty-nine may be the last chance to play for a better foreign team, is to leave the league.

Häcken is looking for a replacement and he has found one in Vydra. He is even in contact with the player and now it is up to the club to offer him an adequate contract.

According to the latest information, Vydra has already turned down Aalborg in Denmark, and in Sweden he would be tempted by the Champions League, which Häcken will fight hard for in the next season, when they will play in the preliminary rounds thanks to the title.
