Barbora Votíková has had a great day. She made her competitive debut in the PSG jersey and immediately managed to shine. She helped to win three points and kept a clean sheet.
In August, Barbora Votíková moved from Slavia to the famous PSG. She boldly chose the number 30 on her jersey, the same number worn by the male star Lionel Messi.
Although women’s football in the Czech Republic does not have such a wide reach, this transfer and move has gained a lot of attention. There was a lot of talk about it.
But the Pilsen native knew that nothing easy awaited her. PSG is one of the world’s top women’s football clubs, there is a lot of competition, and it was a big life change.
But so far, Votíková is obviously coping well. On Wednesday, she was able to make her competitive debut. In the Champions League she played against Icelandic Breidablik.
She didn’t have too much to do in the match, she had to make three saves, but one of them was excellent and crucial. The stoppers left her in the lurch and she had to put out a fire herself in a 1:0 scoreline when she faced the opponent’s attacker in a 1v1 duel.
Who knows what would have happened if Votíková hadn’t made a great save. But in the end, thanks to the good performance of the Czech goalkeeper, PSG won 2: 0 and scored three important points.
The former Slavic player claimed the attention and another opportunity. Hopefully she will get it as soon as possible.
