Wan-Bissaka made 22 competitive appearances for the Red Devils last season. He was a member of Erik ten Hag’s opening eleven on 20 occasions.
As a full-back he scored two goals in the English top flight and one more in the Champions League. He also notched up three assists throughout the season.
Wan-Bissaka as competition for Coufal
Czech full-back Vladimir Coufal has not had much competition until now. He has played 36 games in the top English league, starting in the starting line-up in all of them. At club level, he recorded seven assists (all in the Premier League).
But now one heck of a competition is coming to London. Aaron Wan-Bissaka will have a big incentive to return to the England national team, whose jersey he wore as a youth player.
The twenty-six year old wing-back sees the West Ham team very positively. He admitted that he is looking forward to the new season and that the Hammers really rely on teamwork, or no one is more than a team and everyone helps each other.
Moreover, he already knows this in London, having spent two seasons in the senior team of Crystal Palace. He was then bought by Manchester United for £50 million. But unfortunately for him, he used to be injured a lot and so the expectations that the Manchester club had for him didn’t quite come true.
In the whole five years in the Red Devils organization he has made 190 starts with a record of 2+13. From the 2022/23 season, he added to the ,,vitrines” League Cup, and a year later added the FA Cup, when Manchester United surprisingly triumphed over the champions of England and rivals Manchester City.
