Should Michael Krmencik have his place in the national team? The twenty-nine-year-old striker for Indonesian club Persija Jakarta said in a recent interview that practically one phone call and he’s gone. And not only on this topic, however, former winger Ladislav Vízek expressed his opinion in his blog…

The twenty-nine-year-old native of Kraslice is currently playing for Indonesian club Persija Jakarta, for which he has played in nine games so far, scoring five goals.

It seems that Krmenčík has recovered in this exotic location, but according to Vízek, it is not enough for the national team, as the former Plzeň and Slavia player noted.

In his recent blog, he described the Indonesian league as a village league, whereupon Krmenčík rejected this claim in a week-old interview.

“I say to Mr Vízek that he is evaluating something he has probably never seen in his life. Let him come and see the village league,” Krmenčík told iSport. In his opinion, Vízek is bringing down the competition in Indonesia.

“Here we have everything like in the top teams. Gym, super regeneration, masseurs, physiotherapists. They are building us a new pitch, cabins, in a month and a half we will be playing in a stadium with a capacity of over 80,000 people, it is the third or fourth largest in the world. I’d say to Mr. Vick to take a look at this. For me, it is not right to put this league down,” explains Krmenčík.

Subsequent reaction in another blog by Vízek

“I would like to come back to the guys from Jakarta. I was expecting a reaction after my slightly exaggerated statement about playing village football there. And here it is. Michael Krmenčík fired right in the interview, and coach Honza Klíma also called me on the phone,” Vízek wrote in his blog.

Based on the words of the former national team player, the Czech national team simply needs players from better European leagues.

“Guys, you have to take it easy. If we want to qualify for the World Cup and play a decent role there, we should have players from better leagues than the Indonesian league. With all due respect,” explains Vízek.

The now 67-year-old native of Chlumec nad Cidlinou also mentions that Krmenčík had offers from Greece, Belgium and Germany. According to Vízek, it is interesting that the Czech striker chose the last offer that arrived on Krmenčík’s desk.

However, Krmenčík explained in the interview that he simply wanted to go to an exotic country, and he said it was also in the interest of his family. So Vízek wrote the following.

“In the interview, Krmenčík says that he had offers from Belgium, Greece and Germany, but decided to go to Jakarta. Interesting! For me it’s a puzzling thing, because he didn’t make it in Bruges or in Slavia. I tell him that if he had played as well in Europe as he does now in Jakarta, he would have had a spot with Jarda Šilhavy for sure,” Vízek concluded.

However, one player from Persija Jakarta was nominated to the Czech national team for the recent Nations League, Ondřej Kúdela.

However, the fact remains that coach Jaroslav Šilhavý had to deal with the absence of many players and it is therefore possible that with an ideal line-up, even the former Slavic stopper would not have made it into the line-up.
