Real Madrid managed an important game against Sevilla and scored three points thanks to the great duo of Benzema and Vinicius. The shining Brazilian’s strike in particular really deserves attention.
Before the game, Sevilla were only one point behind Real Madrid. If they won, they could leapfrog them in the table, which would mean top spot in the La Liga table. But it didn’t happen.
The Andalusian side did well in the match. Rafa Mir scored in the 7th minute, only for striker Karim Benzema to equalise in the 32nd minute after a shot from Éder Militao.
The Frenchman only improved his excellent statistics. He is currently the top scorer in La Liga with 11 goals and has 7 assists, which also makes him the top passer.
In the 82nd minute, his attacking teammate Vinicius made the turning point when he broke free beautifully and shot from outside the box, giving the Sevilla goalkeeper no chance.
It is the Brazilian who is right behind Benzema in the scorers’ table, with 9 goals to his name and clearly having the best season of his career.
The loss dropped Sevilla to 4th place in the table with 28 points. Third placed Real Sociedad and second placed Atlético Madrid have 29 points. Real Madrid lead the competition with 33 points.
