Viktoria Plzeň will play a crucial Champions League double-header tonight. It is difficult to find a favourite in the match against Karabakh, the Azerbaijani team has an advantage especially at home. What line-up will the Westerners field?
Coach Michal Bílek is a pragmatist and does not engage in any big experiments with the line-up, he keeps a stable starting eleven in European matches.
In goal will be the main driving force Jindřich Staněk, who held Viktoria in the prelims and last season several times.
After securing the Europa League, Viktoria brought in three more reinforcements, but Fortune Bassey had to stay out of the roster. Václav Jemelka, a tall stopper who can also play at left back, where he tried his hand against Hradec at the weekend, has the only chance to play out of these three.
The stopper pairing will remain the same with Hejda – Pernica. Milan Havel will start on the other side.
The duo of shield midfielders Lukáš Kalvach and Pavel Bucha is also certain. They are indispensable for Plzeň’s system and practically have no substitute.
The offensive part of the lineup will also remain unchanged. The hard-working Jhon Mosquera will start on the left wing, while Jan Kopic has his place on the right wing.
Jan Sýkora will traditionally fill the sub-head striker position, while Tomas Chorý will be preferred to Jan Kliment on the top line.
Probable Plzeň line-up::
Staněk
Havel – Hejda – Pernica – Jemelka
Kalvach – Bucha
Kopic – Sýkora – Mosquera
Chorý
