Viktoria took the lead in the 11th minute. Milan Havel got the ball in the whitewash and easily got the ball behind the visitors’ goalkeeper.
The game could have been level in the 17th minute, Yanic Wildschut fired from distance and his shot from the bar just missed the net of goalkeeper Ales Hruška.
The game was poor on big chances, CSKA asked for a penalty for a foul on Georgi Yomov after almost an hour of play, but the referee decided not to whistle.
In the 72nd minute, Plzen was already up by two goals. Bucha fired at the goalkeeper, who knocked the ball away, where Mosquera found it and sent his team into a two-goal lead.
The Colombian midfielder could have scored his team’s third goal in the 79th minute, but his shot was cleared by the excellent away goalkeeper.
The match ended with Viktoria winning 2:0, with which coach Michal Bílek can certainly be satisfied. Advancement to the group stage is close.
