AC Milan hosted FC Torino at their stadium on Saturday evening. The Rossoneri dominated their second Serie A match of the new season 4-1, with the third goal being worth it. Rafael Leão ran on to Theo Hernández, who expertly outmuscled the visiting goalkeeper.
Milan entered the new edition of the Italian top flight with great grace. First, they won 2-0 at Bologna, although the AC defence had to put out several serious chances for their opponents in the first leg.
The second match was in any case a match of strong domination of the men in red and black. Christian Pulisic scored the first goal in the 33rd minute, assisted by Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
There is an interesting statistic attached to this goal. AC’s new signing, who moved to the San Siro in the summer for €20 million, scored more goals in two games (2) than he did in 24 games for Chelsea (1) last season.
However, the visitors levelled the match three minutes later when Perr Schuurs scored from close range of the opponent’s goal. However, that was all the visitors could do in this match.
In the 43rd minute, referee Maurizio Mariani awarded AC Milan a penalty when one of Torino’s defenders played his hand in his own penalty area. Olivier Giroud was on the spot, and he took the penalty kick perfectly – 2: 1.
But that was not all by the end of the first half. A beautiful goal was scored by Theo Hernández and Rafael Leão, the latter of whom set up the French full-back, who promptly outmuscled the two-metre tall goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.
Another penalty, AC Milan lead Serie A
The Rossoneri struck once more in the second act. For a very indiscriminate tackle by Schuurse on Portugal’s Leão, referee Mariani pointed to the penalty kick mark for the second time and Giroud converted it convincingly again.
AC Milan, thanks to a successful summer transfer window, also entered the new Serie A season with great grace and after Saturday’s duels they lead the table of the Italian top competition.
