Andy Murray won one of the best points in tennis history. The thirty-five year old Briton withstood a tough attack from Australian opponent Thanasi Kokkinakis, who fought back superbly and then won the point.
Andy Murray went into the match as the better-seeded player, but was down after two sets. The Australian won the first round 6: 4, then defeated him in the tiebreak and went to the third round.
But the Briton fought back. He refused to be defeated and, with his opponent serving at 0: 2, he managed to win perhaps one of the best points in tennis history.
He easily picked up the serve, but was then cornered by Kokkinakis. The Australian could have smashed three times after his return, but Murray was always in the right place.
In the end, he was able to outmaneuver him and Kokkinakis lost his advantage. He still managed to get the ball to the other side, but on the next shot he only hit the net.
He then threw his racket out of frustration and Murray was able to reduce the third set to 1: 2 in games. The home tennis player was probably very upset by this point.
The Briton managed to turn the third set around sensationally and eventually won the tiebreak 7::6. The next set belonged to Murray as well and he won it quite convincingly 6::3.
The match thus went into the final set, which completed a sensational turn! Murray was close to losing, but he finally came back and dominated the third set with a score of 7::5.
