VIDEO: Turkish fan broke a corner flag against the goalkeeper, who ended up in hospital

Today, Turkey experienced a match that will not be forgotten in the country for a long time. A flare caused serious injuries to a fan and two children. Apart from the flare, there was also an incident on the pitch that will be remembered for a long time by the visitors’ goalkeeper, who had a corner flag broken by one of the home fans.

Göztepe against Altay, it was supposed to be a football match, it ended with an ambulance arriving and the goalkeeper being assaulted. The score was 0:0 when some of the home fans sent flares into the away sector.

In order not to be detected, they threw a smoke bomb into their sector through which it was not visible who sent the flare.

The flare caused injuries to two children and one adult. An ambulance even had to come for him and the referee had to stop the match.

The away goalkeeper came to see the ambulance, it was one of his worst decisions. As he watched people getting into the ambulance, one of the spectators attacked him.

The home fan ran onto the pitch, he chose the corner flag as his weapon. He picked it up, ran across the pitch with it and hit the away goalkeeper with it with full force. Ozan Evrim Özenç had no way to react to the unexpected attack.

He managed to land a second blow on the goalkeeper before the angry fan was stopped by the people around him. The second blow broke the flag on the goalkeeper, then the people managed to pacify him.

The home team’s goalkeeper had to be hospitalized after this attack. According to journalist Chahal, Özenç ended up in hospital with a four-centimetre hole in his head. He lost a lot of blood, as confirmed by the photo of the bed that Chahal posted on Twitter.
