Pre-season preparation in the United States brings us interesting matches

The pre-season preparation for the season is coming to a head and we can see a lot of interesting matches in the pre-season. Today brought a double showdown between the big clubs from the Premier League and the Spanish La Liga.

In the first match, Real Madrid defeated Manchester United with two beautiful goals as the new acquisitions of the White Ballet scored. After just six minutes, Jude Bellingham made his first appearance in a White Ballet jersey when he beat Onana with a beautiful lob. Joselu then capped the scoring with a superb scissors.

In the second match played at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, more than 70,000 spectators saw a crazy shootout. It was shared between Arsenal and Spanish La Liga champions FC Barcelona in a preliminary match.

Arsenal beat Barcelona in a wild shootout

The match had a crazy pace from the very beginning. In the first ten minutes, the Catalans’ biggest star Robert Lewandowski opened the match with a goal. The response was not long in coming when Bukayo Saka took advantage of a miscommunication in Barcelona’s defence in the 12th minute.

Rafinha gave the Catalans the lead back after more than half an hour from a free-kick when his telegraphed shot found the corner of the helpless Ramsdale’s net. But the tie was secured before the end of the first half by new acquisition Kai Havertz, who silenced his critics with his second goal in three games in an Arsenal jersey.

The goals didn’t stop falling after the change of sides, with Belgian youngster Tossard scoring two goals. First, in the 56th minute, after a beautiful individual action, he burned through everything in his path. Then in the 78th minute, he took advantage of a precise centre by Tierney.

Two minutes before the end of regulation time, Ferran Torres reduced the gap to a single goal, taking advantage of a clever cross from Dembelé. But Arsenal’s 5-3 scoreline was completed in injury time by Fabio Vieira’s beautiful shot from outside the box.

Arsenal thus put to rest their recent loss to the Red Devils, when they failed to score a single goal, and returned to winning ways on their overseas tour. It is Xavi who will have to work on his team’s defensive game ahead of the preparatory match against Real Madrid held in just two days.
