Manchester United travelled to Cyprus for a Europa League match. However, it was not an easy affair with Omonia, as United won by a mere 3 goals to 2. Cristiano Ronaldo also showed that he is not in the best of form at the moment. He missed the open goal.
In the third match of the Europa League group stage, Manchester United and its biggest stars travelled to Cyprus to face Omonia.
The latter had lost the previous two encounters and aimed to win at least a point. It failed to do so, although it was quite close. The match ended 2: 3.
The first goal was scored by Karim Ansarifard, but Marcus Rashford equalized, United sent Anthony Martial into the lead and Rashford then increased the lead to 1: 3. Nikolas Panagiotou made it 2-3.
In the 78th minute, however, there was a moment that will circulate around the internet for some time to come. It featured Cristiano Ronaldo, who doesn’t get much space on the pitch in his team.
But he seemed to show the reason, as after a great pass on the edge of the small area, he shot at the open goal, but he didn’t seem to aim too well and only hit the ball into the bar.
Proving that he’s not struggling with form. The team didn’t have to be sorry after the game, but the Portuguese failed in the setup as well, missing another great chance.
