Orlando City faced Nashville in the first match of the playoffs on Monday night and the home team was able to celebrate a 1: 0 win.
Fans had to wait until the end of the first half for the first and last goal of the match. In the 41st minute, Wilder Cartagena scored.
The 29-year-old Peruvian midfielder made the most of a pass from Cesar Araujo to score one of the most beautiful goals of the current MLS season. You can see his goal in the video below.
Meanwhile, Cartagena has only scored once in 24 regular season games in the current MLS season, plus he has recorded one assist.
However, in the first game of the playoffs, he scored a wonderful goal that puts Orlando in a better position for the upcoming rematch. It will be played on November 8th in Nashville.
Orlando is undoubtedly the bigger favorite to advance to the next stage of the playoffs. It finished the regular season in second place in the Eastern Conference, having scored 63 points in 34 games. They are six points behind the East champion FC Cincinnati.
Nashville, on the other hand, secured the last spot in the eight-finals, finishing the regular season with 49 points in seventh place.
