West Ham failed to win their match at Brighton, after losing 0:4 they are only a point above the relegation zone. Tomas Soucek played 76 minutes, Vladimir Coufal did not play at all. Alexis Mac Allister, Danny Welbeck, Kaoru Mitoma and Joel Veltman scored for the home side.
The start of the match was cautious from both sides, only in the 12th minute Solly March took a shot after a series of tackles, but Alphonse Areola saved it. Five minutes later Jarrod Bowen fouled Kaoru Mitoma in the penalty area and a penalty was whistled.
World champion Alexis Mac Allister took the ball and converted the penalty kick with a shot to the left post.
West Ham threatened in the 25th minute, but Bowen’s accurate effort was parried by goalkeeper Jason Steele with his foot. The Hammers were plagued by inaccuracies for the rest of the first half and did not capitalise on the activity, going into the box with a 1-0 lead.
Mac Allister had a great opportunity after the change of sides but missed the target by a whisker. In the 55th minute, the stadium celebrated when Joel Veltman was the best player in a messy situation and pushed the ball into the net with his body.
Hammers second goal took away all confidence and in the 66th minute the third shot came, Mitoma taking advantage of a chance.
The game ended for Tomáš Souček with a substitution in the 75th minute and a yellow card. Brighton enjoyed the end of the match and from Danny Welbeck’s kick they increased the score to 4:0.
Brighton are now just three points behind fifth place from eighth place, while West Ham are a point away from relegation.
