That takes a lot of courage. The head referee of the Slavia – Panathinaikos match Ruddy Buquet showed Panathinaikos star Sebastian Palacios a yellow card for simulation and since it was the second one, the 30-year-old striker was sent off.

The match was going as expected, Panathinaikos bet on a solid defensive game, Slavia tried to conquer the opponent, but the game was more around the whitewash.

There was not much excitement in front of the goal, it was a relatively calm game until the 30th minute. But then things started to happen.

In the 31st minute, Sebastian Palacios saw a yellow card for a foul and little did he know that it would be fatal for him in a few moments.

In the 40th minute, he dashed into the Slavija penalty area, cleverly avoided Oscar’s slip and only Ousou was in front of him. He poked the ball past him and went down, the Swedish stopper hitting the ball in the slide.

Palacios immediately started looking around for the referee as he wanted a penalty. And referee Buquet did indeed blow his whistle, only to the shock of the Panathinaikos players, he pointed away from the Slavia goal and showed the away striker a yellow card for simulation. And since it was the second, the Argentine had to be ordered off the field.
