VIDEO: Shame! Allegedly drunk referee drove Plzeň’s B team, watch his fall
Well, they’re not gonna put that behind a frame. The three referees who officiated the third league match between Slavia Karlovy Vary and the Viktoria Plzen reserve team arrived at the match in a drunken state, according to testimony. Speculation is also fuelled by a strange fall of the main referee.
Well, they’re not gonna put that behind a frame. The three referees who officiated the third league match between Slavia Karlovy Vary and the Viktoria Plzen reserve team arrived at the match in a drunken state, according to testimony. The speculation is also fuelled by a strange fall of the main referee.
On Saturday evening, a derby between Slavia Karlovy Vary and the reserve team of Viktoria Plzeň was played in the Third League. The match ended with the home team winning 3:2, which secured the eighth place after the autumn and put Viktoria’s promotion chances further away.
More than the match itself, however, the referees impressed. The main referee Milan Matějček had Erik Hlaváček and Lukáš Machýček on the lines. But they did not impress with their quality performance, on the contrary.
According to the testimony of fans and officials who attended the match, the aforementioned trio arrived in a drunken state. They deservedly made a big disgrace for themselves.
Since it was a derby, of course, a larger number of people watched it, who were amused, many of them rather annoyed, by the fall in the 24th minute. On the video you can see that Matějček was not in form.
“I’ve seen a lot of football, but it was the first time I’ve seen the referees arrive greased, and for a derby that always attracts a lot of fans,” František Hřídel from Karlovy Vary told the Karlovy Vary daily.
It’s really a wonder how referees who officiate such a high level competition can afford to do such a thing. After all, it would be a disgrace even in the district, where it also happens rarely.
The boss of Slavia, Stanislav Štípek, even made a suggestion to the delegate of the association before the match. The situation will now be investigated and if the speculations are confirmed, a long suspension for all referees can be expected.
These referees have significantly damaged Czech football and are not to be thanked, especially by their colleagues who are trying to expand the refereeing profession and improve its quality.
