Even goalkeeper Ederson seemed to be concentrating on the England star and it was as if he didn’t know about Fernandes, who eventually finished. The referee initially waved offside, but the head referee conceded the goal.

Who knows what would have happened if the goal hadn’t fallen. In any case, the Citizens felt wronged and instead of trying to quickly take the lead back, they had to pull the ball out of their net again four minutes later.

Rashford got United’s winning goal after a beautiful clearance from Alejandro Garnacha.
