Ronaldinho is one of the most popular footballers. The Brazilian magician has entertained fans so much with his tricks and ball skills that there was practically no one who didn’t like him. Today the football legend celebrates his 43rd birthday, let’s remember his magic.
Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, known as Ronaldinho, started his professional career at the age of 17 in Grêmio, Brazil. In 4 years he played 125 games and scored 58 goals.
In January 2001, a transfer to PSG came, but it stirred up controversy with the parent club not giving their approval for the departure. The transfer was decided by both the courts and FIFA, which gave the right decision to the Brazilian club. Because of this dispute he could not play, FIFA itself approved the player’s registration in August 2001.
In his first season in Paris, Ronaldinho scored nine times and contributed to the fourth place, and in the next season he was the best player of the club, which, however, finished only in 11th place, and the Brazilian asked to leave.
Thus came July 2003 and a transfer to Barcelona for €32 million. Immediately in his first season he scored 22 goals and became the team’s top scorer. One of the most famous moments of Ronaldinho’s career came in the 2005/06 season.
In El Clásico at the Santiago Bernabéu, Ronaldinho scored two goals and especially after the second one, when he played with the Real home defence, something unprecedented happened. He left the pitch to the applause of the entire stadium at the ground of the biggest rival, an honour that few people get.
In 2008, Ronaldinho left for AC Milan, where he spent 3 years. He then returned to Brazil where he played for Flamengo, Mineiro, Queretaro and Fluminense.
During his career, however, Ronaldinho left a huge mark on the hearts of fans. He made history as one of the best technicians in the world. Let’s recall the magic he used to entertain the fans.
Ronaldinho won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002 and celebrated winning the Champions League in 2006. He is also the 2005 Ballon d’Or winner.
