Inter Milan lost 0:1 to Empoli on Monday and are now thirteen points behind the top of the table. Milan Škriniar, who received a red card in the first half, played a significant role in the result. Heis now facing a suspension unless he transfers.

Empoli were surprisingly the more active team from the opening minutes, sending two dangerous shots in the first twenty minutes.

Gradually the game evened out, however, before the 40th minute came and Milan Škriniar saw his second yellow card of the match.

And it should be noted that he could have easily seen a straight red, as he hit the head of striker Francesco Caputo with his football. Nevertheless, the Slovakian international was very surprised and did not agree with the sending off at all.

Inter had their chances even when shorthanded, but in the 70th minute they were fouled by substitute Tommaso Baldanzi and could not react. Stefan de Vrij missed the best chance to equalise, hitting the crossbar with his head.

The two yellow fouls by Scrinior from Monday’s game may be the result of frustration from the last few months. The Slovakian international has made no secret of his desire to leave, but Milan need him in defence.

A move to Juventus didn’t work out for Škriniar, and now PSG’s interest is being addressed this winter. And such an offer is very tempting given the nominal quality of the squad led by Lionel Messi. The situation is not yet settled, and Škriniar can still leave.

PSG coach Christopher Galtier has also commented on the Slovakian defender. “I don’t know if Škriniar will join us in January, in the summer… He’s a player we’ve been watching for a long time. We thought he would join us last summer,” Galtier told beIN Sports.
